2024: week 51.
monday, december 16.
This coffee shop is next to Switchyards and, given the decor in here, I’m assuming is the reason for the ornaments in the trees outside.
Also. How cute are the ornaments though?
Taking life advice from a Mush Protein Bar.
tuesday, december 17.
This day was pretty standard (if I’m remembering correctly?). But then I babysat in the afternoon through the evening, so I didn’t go to church.
wednesday, december 18.
SJ came over this day. We “coworked.” In quotes because we definitely didn’t get any work done. I babysat again this night.
thursday, december 19.
It’s been a week and a half since I last wore black nail polish and I just feel like that needs to be documented here somewhere.
Also, I had a couple work meetings this day about like, future work. Exciting! And then Forrest had their holiday Zoom call, which was actually pretty fun.
friday, december 20.
Sleep this week was pretty terrible and by Friday night, I was crying to Lani about it in the kitchen. She prayed for me and then right before we parted ways to go in our rooms, she said, “Read Proverbs 3.” And I am endlessly grateful for her and our house and a God who gives me exactly the roommates I didn’t know I’d need.
saturday, december 21.
Suddenly remembered I have this mug! Also, those packages to the left, below my Christmas tree, are the Christmas gifts my parents have sent me saying, “Don’t open.” And I would just like to point out that I haven’t.
sunday, december 22.
Really into mugs this week. Also back to black nail polish. Which, I was actually going to go red for Christmas. But after a week of wild uncertainty, I felt like I needed extra familiarity/stability where I could get it.
Also also. This “begin right here” notebook is where I start my day. I write a list of what I’m grateful for and what I’m asking God for. Because there isn’t a better way to begin a day than by thanking and talking to God. And also it reminds me of Psalm 5:3. “In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice'; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.”
(I actually didn’t realize the first part of this verse talks about God hearing and I just love that. Such a recurring theme for me these days.)
I finished reading the Bible this day. A full two days ahead of schedule. I might write more about this later. But being two full days ahead is really just a reflection of how much I loved it. Like, I loved it so much I just kept going.
