2024: week 50.
monday, december 9.
My pilates studio does a “wrapped” thing where it tells me how many classes I’ve taken, the instructors I’ve taken the most classes with, at what times I most frequently attended classes, etc. I like to stick to a routine, and I know which instructors I prefer. But this phrasing got me — “tackling each morning like it’s your secret weapon.”
One hundred percent. Mornings are where it’s at.
tuesday, december 10.
Ornaments in the trees outside, taken on my last day at Switchyards.
wednesday, december 11.
I sent this to T because we both were on day three hair this day. But also look at my festive nail polish!
Because I don’t pay for Switchyards anymore, I decided to go to a coffee shop this day. And it turns out I actually really liked writing from a coffee shop more than Switchyards. It just has a different energy.
thursday, december 12.
At prayer the night before, one girl quoted this psalm and I love it so much because God hears. And! He bends down to listen.
I don’t know. I knew this, but I also just can’t stop thinking about how incredible that is.
I came home from the grocery store to find a surprise check in the mail. And then my friend called me to let me know that her friend was giving away tickets to Tommee Profitt’s The Birth Of A King show for free. And both of those things just confirmed Psalm 116 for me. God hears. When I pray directly and ask for something, and when I don’t.
friday, december 13.
Last week was a double Christmas party week and this week was a double Christmas concert week. This night, I went with some friends to the Brentwood Baptist “Joy To The World” Christmas concert.
saturday, december 14.
The only photos I have from this day are screenshots I took of internet pages as I Googled the actual timeline of Old Testament events and a chronological list of chapters (not just books) of the Bible. Mostly because I was reading through the prophets and those books are all out of order.
sunday, december 15.
I served at church and then went home to do more reading. Because I’m obsessed. I’m a full day ahead in my reading plan, which is quite significant when you’re reading the whole thing in 30 days. This time when I started, I decided I would just read what I wanted to. I wanted to make sure I read enough to finish by Christmas, but it wasn’t just checking the boxes and getting it done every day. I read because I wanted to, and then I just kept going.
Also, TBCO has a ten year anniversary book and it so beautifully tells the story of what God has done in the past ten years. The page in the photo is in the section on TBCO Kids, and that’s one thing I really, really love about this church. They point us all to the presence and power of God, no matter how old we are. We all have access. There is no junior Holy Spirit.
