2024: week 38.

monday, september 16.

i worked and then went on a walk with a friend this day.

tuesday, september 17.

earlier this year, paul (one of the pastors at my church who sometimes sends me his writing to edit) told me he had another project for me to work on — a book! it was such an honor to get to be part of the process of bringing this thing into existence. not only because i got to use my god-given gift to do it, but because this book is so good.

he was hoping to have printed copies in time for conference (which starts thursday), and they came in! he gave me a copy at church this night, and i was so excited (as you can see on my face). honestly, i was mostly excited because it’s thrilling to be able to hold a tangible thing in your hands and because it’s the first book he’s written — and i don’t even know what it feels like to hold a physical copy of your own book in your hands, but it must be so neat! and also, my name is in it as an editor, which is also exciting.

wednesday, september 18.

a snippet of some notes i took during last week’s prayer session. as you can see, they’re very stream-of-consciousness. i started working on that project this day. honestly, making things with god is just way more fun than anything else. highly recommend it.

thursday, september 19.

first night of conference! i served this night by being a moderator in the chat with everyone watching online.

friday, september 20.

sj stayed at my house during conference because i live way closer than she does. we carpooled together. prayed together. took photos together. sat on the floor in the back of the auditorium together.

okay but there is something about sitting on the floor in the back of the room. it’s such holy ground. maybe because i’m closer to the ground? maybe because that spot is where all the moms and dads are with their babies? i don’t know, but the presence of god is so extra.

saturday, september 21.

a quick selfie because i wore a puffy shirt and eyeliner this day. hannah from “but god” was doing portrait sessions at conference, and i did one. it was so much fun because hannah is so kind to talk to and also she told me what to do with my hands.

conference 2025 branding is on point. already can’t wait.

sunday, september 22.

conference sunday. i had a nice post-conf nap. then i babysat this night. i was pretty exhausted, but the kids were already in bed so i just sat on the couch for a couple hours and journaled about conf and what i felt like god was saying and all the things.
