2024: week 37.
monday, september 9.
i went for a walk when i finished working and loved the patterns on the ground where the light was shining through the leaves on the trees.
tuesday, september 10.
no photos. went for a walk. took a nap. sj came over. went to church.
wednesday, september 11.
i was just recently chatting with sj and her mom about how they’re ready for pumpkins-on-the-porch season, and i was like, “no.” then i went grocery shopping and saw this bin, and it was like when you start seeing ads about the thing you were recently talking about, except in real life. (and it’s just actually pumpkin season.)
thursday, september 12.
this day was the first day after the fast. although i fast pretty regularly, this experience was unlike the others in that it was way more uncomfortable, and i had a lot of feelings about it. and then i woke up on this day and made breakfast and coffee like a normal person again. and as i was reading my bible, god started talking to me about so many things. i took pages and pages of notes. i was kind of shocked, because like i said, it was just so unlike anything i’d experienced before — but it was so neat.
friday, september 13.
i went to a shabbat dinner this night. i don’t have any photos, but it was hosted on a rooftop patio downtown, which was so fun.
saturday, september 14.
jess started packing her stuff on this day, and while i know she is getting married and moving out (and we have another girl moving in), i still did not appreciate seeing her stuff like this. when i got home later that night, our downstairs looked so empty. (except for the corner where she put the boxes of stuff.)
evidence that the night of babysitting for a new family went well: a star sticker.
sunday, september 15.
i served at church in the morning, went to a coffee pop-up at a friend’s house, hung out with sj, and then went to this writer’s round where my friend kevin played.
