2024: week 28.

monday, july 8.

barbies. tea parties. braids. it was a pretty girly afternoon.

tuesday, july 9.

getting to sleep at t’s means i’m there in the morning after the tooth fairy comes and i get to see the awe and wonder on jack’s face as he shows me the note she left him.

after packing up, i drove back to nashville.

on the way to the beach, i learned that love’s is headquartered in oklahoma and that they support children’s miracle network hospitals from my roommate jess who is from oklahoma and is a strong supporter and advocate for good brands from there.

i don’t typically get gas mid-drive since my tank is big enough to make it the whole way, but this day i did, and obviously i stopped at a love’s, and obviously i texted this selfie to jess.

to which she replied:

they also have clean bathrooms.

wednesday, july 10.

on tuesday night at church, the speaker talked about this verse and it stuck with me all into wednesday.

she emphasized the plundering part by explaining how she would not appreciate it if we went to her house and stole her things. and yet, this calls out their joy — because they knew they had something better. something lasting.

and i just keep thinking about what i want to hold onto, and do i think it’s better than what’s lasting?

thursday, july 11.

i didn’t have any plans after work this night, and i was pretty excited about it. i didn’t really think about how much i had just been going and going until this day. so much has been happening inside and outside of work that it was much needed to have a night where i could rest, read, and go to bed early.

friday, july 12.

some friends and i had planned to hang out this night, but we spontaneously decided to meet up at the park, and it turned out to be an excellent choice. it was such a beautiful night.

saturday, july 13.

my favorite thing about a saturday morning is waking up without an alarm and seeing the light coming in through the blinds on my ceiling and walls. it’s such a small thing but still worth documenting.

the rest of the day was spent by the pool with sj — another favorite way to spend a saturday, especially when it’s 95 degrees and sunny.

sunday, july 14.

i served at church and then i came home and cleaned, did laundry, planned my week, and worked on the book i’m writing.

while i was flipping through an old notebook for reference, i found this gem.
