2024: week 27.

monday, july 1.

i started doing this thing this year where i schedule quarterly reviews for myself. i made a list of questions i want to reflect on or things i want to notice throughout the year — sort of as a way to get a glimpse into what god is doing in real time. so that’s what i did this night.

my q1 review didn’t feel that eye-opening — probably because i didn’t have anything to compare it to. looking back on q2 though, i started to notice themes or patterns or something, and now i’m super curious about how q3 will unfold. i’ve got my eyes peeled.

tuesday, july 2.

sj came over before church and it turned out to be good timing because she’s the interior design “furniture expert,” as jess called her, and she was able to help with wedding registry bed frame decisions.

wednesday, july 3.

i drove to charlotte on this day. we had july 4–5 off at work, and t and her family were moving out of their apartment and into a house. so i tacked some pto days to the front and back end of the long weekend and went to help.

thursday, july 4.

this day was full of taking loads of things over and packing up the last bits in the apartment. lee set up the dining room this way, which made me laugh.

my parents’ neighbors like two doors down had a whole fireworks show, which was so nice for us as we could see them perfectly from their front porch.

friday, july 5.

moving day. when we found olive’s sunglasses under the couch after we moved it, she obviously needed to wear them for the rest of the day.

after moving all the stuff, t and i went back to get the fridge and freezer food. but first, chipotle.

saturday, july 6.

i stayed with the kids while t and lee went to clean the apartment. i was making lunch when olive came over, said nothing, and stood just like this. excuse me while i go melt into a puddle.

sunday, july 7.

i don’t have any photos from this day. it was more unpacking, rearranging, etc.
