2024: week 24.

monday, june 10.

I finished work a little early this day, so I sat on my back patio and read. The weather was perfect.

tuesday, june 11.

SJ’s birthday!

I took the day off to hang with her. We (she) went golfing. I drove the golf cart. Then we hung out by her pool.

It was so fun to take a Tuesday and do whatever she wanted to do.

wednesday, june 12.

I wake up too late to see the sunrise now, and maybe that’s why I’ve been obsessed with sunsets?

It used to be that when I’d drive to morning prayer when they were at 7am in January, I’d catch the sunrise as I pulled in the parking lot. Now I catch the sunset after evening prayer.

This night at prayer, one of the pastors got up on stage and basically called out word-for-word what I had been praying silently in my seat. He said he just really felt like praying into that specific thing, and I just think it’s the sweetest when God does that — when He lets you know He sees you and hears you.

thursday, june 13.

I went for a walk with a friend after work. It was like 90 degrees and we got real sweaty, but it was a nice time.

friday, june 14.

I spontaneously joined my roommate Lani and went to a Shabbat dinner that one of her friends hosted. It was so fun! We read the whole book of ruth out loud, which was maybe my favorite part.

saturday, june 15.

I worked on the book I’m writing and then went to a dinner party. My friend who hosts large social gatherings started coordinating these smaller dinner parties that happen all around Nashville. Basically you sign up to do it, and then you are placed in a group of people to have dinner with. I think if you go to the larger social events, your chances of knowing the other people in your dinner party group are higher, but I’ve only been to one, so I didn’t know anyone else before I went. It was so random and fun.

sunday, june 16.

I served at church and then hung out with SJ by her pool — until it started raining.

The afternoon and evening were unexpectedly stormy (unexpected to me, at least). The clouds looked so neat after the storm cleared and the sun was setting. I have like 12 photos of the sky from my drive home, but here is just one for now.
