january thoughts.
i'm trying to get back in the swing of things. mid-january. whatever, i think we should all just collectively understand that it's going to take the whole month of january to fully transition into the new year. like that unspoken grace period we all give each other for when we accidentally write down the date as 2013 instead of 2014 because we're not used to it yet.
the thing is that there is just a lot of decision making as an adult "in the swing of things" and i think i would much rather focus on decisions regarding which tv show i want to watch on netflix and then work on executing that.
(related: i'm pretty sure the only real thing i've accomplished so far in 2014 is successfully catching up on scandal. if anyone wants to discuss it.)
the other thing is that not only is it a new year and a new beginning and blah blah blah, but i also started my real, grown-up job at the start of the new year, which requires me to wake up and actually get out of bed a full hour earlier than i'm used to. a full hour earlier than i've had to wake up in probably two years. so THAT is a transition in itself.
thank god for coffee, is what i'm trying to say.
also that i'm just showing up a little fashionably late to this 2014 party.
