2024: week 46.
monday, november 11.
Pretty obsessed with the sky in the 6 o’clock hour.
tuesday, november 12.
Dying at that sky.
wednesday, november 13.
This is becoming a photo log of what the sky looks like in the morning. But how could I not?
thursday, november 14.
I ran to the post office wearing sweatpants but threw on this jacket to “elevate the look,” which made me laugh. Partly because I’m not really a person who cares about elevating a look (except that I did), and partly because all that copy I wrote about this jacket is definitely so true.
We had a (church) Creative Team Thanksgiving this night. We tried to snap a photo where you could see the fire behind us but that was bad lighting, so instead there is a chair.
friday, november 15.
Great day. No photos to show for it.
I did some pilates, some work, some errands, some packing.
saturday, november 16.
I flew to Tulsa this morning for Jess’s wedding. It was a Sunday brunch wedding, and my friend Christian (who split everything with me) and I went early so we could see Tulsa. I’ve written about it before, but Jess LOVES Tulsa/Oklahoma/etc. So it felt appropriate to take advantage of the time on Saturday to visit her spots.
She included a list of places to go, eat, get coffee, etc. on their wedding website so basically we just used that as an itinerary.
Our first stop after the airport was getting lunch at Mother Road Market, which was kind of like L&L Market or The Factory, except way smaller and mostly food. It was so cute but neither one of us took any photos.
Then we went to Utica Square, which had food and shopping. We happened to park near this chocolate shop (which was on Jess’s list), so we popped in there. Honestly I think it was the Christmas decor that drew us in, but we definitely ended up making some purchases in there.
The whole ceiling inside the chocolate shop looked like this. It was full-on Christmas in Tulsa, which was funny because they’re definitely still in fall.
We walked around, drove to another coffee spot on the list, and then sat on a bench in a park sipping our coffee and eating chocolate. It was the best. The weather was perfect.
Jess’s fam left these sweet gift bags for us at the hotel.
Jess is an incredible host and always makes you feel welcome, and it was wild to experience a day where she wasn’t actually with us, but she still hosted us so well.
After a quick power nap at the hotel, we ventured out for dinner.
sunday, november 17.
Wedding day!
Every detail — the coffee, the Sunday paper, the food (including gluten free/vegan options) — was so intentional and beautiful. And again, the weather could not have been better.
